Clinical Supervision

Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision from my practice in Bromley, South East London, and online to therapists across the UK.

My Approach

My supervision is rooted in a relational psychodynamic framework. That means I understand the supervisory relationship itself as a live relational system, shaped by the same dynamics that operate in the therapy room, and capable of the same depth of work when the conditions are right.

I pay close attention to parallel process, the way relational dynamics from the therapy room reproduce themselves in supervision, often without either of us planning it. When you bring a case you’re struggling with, what shows up between us in how you present it is frequently as clinically useful as the content itself. Naming that carefully, rather than moving past it, is often where the most significant supervisory work happens.

I am interested in what you bring to supervision, not just the cases but your own material, your particular vulnerabilities, blind spots, and sensitivities as they show up in your clinical work. Working with that honestly, rather than around it, is what makes supervision genuinely developmental rather than merely managerial.

Who I Work With

I work with trainees, newly qualified practitioners, and experienced clinicians at all career stages. I welcome supervisees from diverse backgrounds and work thoughtfully with difference, including cultural identity, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+ experience, as part of the supervisory relationship rather than as an add-on to it.

I have a particular specialist interest in supervising therapists working with trauma and dissociation, including those encountering complex presentations for the first time. This is an area where good supervision matters enormously: the countertransference responses are often powerful and confusing, the risk of vicarious traumatisation is real, and the clinical and ethical dimensions are specific. If you are working with clients who have complex trauma or dissociative presentations, including DID, I can offer supervision that holds that complexity with genuine experience and understanding.

Qualifications

I hold a Certificate in Psychodynamic Supervision and a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision. I am a BACP Senior Accredited Psychotherapist and a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) and the European Society for Trauma and Dissociation (ESTD-UK). My doctoral research at the University of Chester focuses on therapeutic writing and trauma, and I bring that research awareness into my supervisory work with practitioners who are developing specialist interests of their own.

Format and Practicalities

I offer both individual and group supervision. Group supervision is available for up to four therapists and provides a collaborative space to share experience, gain insight from peers, and benefit from the group’s collective thinking on cases and professional questions. Both individual and group supervision are available in person at my practice in Bromley, South East London, and online via Zoom. Sessions can be weekly, fortnightly, or monthly depending on your professional requirements and personal preference.

If you are a trainee, I am familiar with the requirements of the main training bodies and can provide the structured, documented supervision your course requires while also offering the relational depth that makes supervision genuinely useful rather than just a compliance exercise.

Getting in Touch

If you are looking for supervision that takes the relational dimensions of clinical work seriously, I’d be glad to have an initial conversation. I offer a free introductory meeting so we can assess whether working together feels like a good fit.
